Setting up infotainment
. What I want to do is use my smartphone mounted to the handlebars (12 inch apes) for music, GPS and message alerts. I do not want to use a windshield bag for this as I like to have my music at my fingertips. While I do not converse while riding, it is nice to see if the call I am getting warrants a pull over and response. I figured to find a good mount, run a usb down to the lower left fairing and just run a usb/powerlet plug for charging. Then I can bluetooth right to my helmet, or hard wire to the harmon kardon for external music and turn by turn if I choose.Questions: Any recommendations for a good mount? Plenty of adjustability and vibration dampening. There are plenty out there, but some of them suck. The phone/gps sags a little with each bump etc.
Is there a better way to have a usb charging port than how I described?
TIA
I also bought a Lifeproof case as it is waterproof. Then I have a Sena 20s for the Bluetooth speakers in my helmet.
Both of them held up fine for the whole trip, in rain, sleet snow flurries, and pea sized hail. I did get worried the hail might crack my phone screen, but it only lasted like 5 minutes.
