They make straps that go around your handlebars then hook to your tie downs. This is the best for front of bike. The rear just needs to be held in place so it won't slide or hop. Go from the rear crash bars just in front of the saddlebags.

I'm getting an '06 RG early next month and was just looking at the possibilities this weekend. I thought of attaching to the front on the crash bars beyond where the fairing is mounted. Do you believe that is strong and stable enough to hold. I want to attach to the handlebars but the fairing causes problems. Terry, where did you get those straps you mentioned. That would be ideal if they can extend below the fairing to attach to the regular tie-downs. I also think I will get additional floor mounts in order to move the attach point more to beside or a littel behind the handlebars. Whatcha think?
It's going to be the red pearl, SE II's, lowered, stage one, luggage rack, sissy bar. That'll get me through the winter. I live in easter N.C. and there will be occasional riding days before spring.

Lawton,
You should be able to get the tie down extensions at your dealer or any motorcycle dealer. Forgot about the fairing problem since I never trailer my bike
. I would actually have to look at my bike to decide where to attach them. You want to go as high as you can on the bike to make it stable and you have to compress the forks so it won't bounce.
