Default Fairing on a wide glide

I am interested in getting a fairing for my 11 wg. I didnt want the big streetglide so i opted for the lighter , more agile wg. But i like the fairing, for looks and also mounting a stereo. I am very interestd in seeing and hearing how you went about installing it and what kind you got.

Thanks

This is a Memphis Shades Batwing Fairing from a Yamaha. I mounted it using the quick-detach clamps from my HD windshield. The Wide Glide and Yamaha fork width must be pretty close because it just all happened to line up.

I also have a small stereo that stays behind when the fairing is removed

do you remember the part number off the memphis shades fairing. what model/year yamaha. they you just used 4 quick release clamps to secure it to the forks? do you have inside pics of it off the bike. would like to see the mounting hardware. i think it would look good with the stock bars on my 11 wg. i want the grips to match up with the 2 ends.

***Disclaimer***
This is what fit my '07.
Can't say for sure what will work with the newer Wide Glides.

You'll need 4 parts.
1) fairing
2) hardware
3) windshield
4) QD clamps from HD

This is the fairing you'll need. When the page loads choose Yamaha V-Star 650 Classic.

The hardware part number you'll need is 2321-0074. This is just the bracket system that attaches to the fairing. You don't need the full hardware system for the Yamaha because the clamps and everything that fits around the forks won't work for our bikes.

You can select a windshield height and colorhereon Memphis Shades website. This page also has all the part numbers for hardware. The one I mentioned above you'll see on that page too.

Then, the QD windshield clamps attach to the part number mentioned above (2321-0074) and clamp right to your forks like one of HD's quick-detach windshields.

Here are a couple shots of the inside of the fairing:

Nice looking bike -well done.

The shape of that fairing looks good with the rake.

Thanks icecaps I appreciate it.

masterblaster -- I don't think the mid-glide front end on the FXDC will work with this setup. The fork width on the FXDC will not line up with the bracket system on the fairing. Maybe another hardware system on Memphis Shades site will allow it to work, or possibly reversing the quick-detach clamps so they're on the inside of the brackets will work, but I'm just speculating.

I have a buddy with a Super Glide. If I see him on his bike and I have my fairing on I'll try to line things up to get an idea of what might work. He doesn't ride much these days so I can't promise I'll see him out and about any time soon.

Bry;

I'm right at the point of deciding to put a fairing on my 09 FDXC. I have no doubt that
I can do so, but I want to use the HD, quick release clamp-type set up like you have.

Could you measure the distance between the Memphis Shades brackets and post
that here? It would help a lot in determining what might have to be done to adapt the
specific fairing you have to an FXD's forks.

Really appreciate it...
