Default throttle cable issue

hey guys ... so ive adjusted the " free play in my throttle cables and even had a buddy of mine ( hes an HD tech ) but heres the strange part. ... sometimes when im riding ... the free play goes away and the throttle is " tight " to twist.... i twas like that this evening .. zero free play but then after i stopped for gas i had the proper free play .... WAHT GIVES GUYS ???

bad throttle cables hanging up in the sheathing ?? oh .... yes they have been cleaned and lubed recently

crazy- the only variable I can think of is cruise control..is this a EFI or carb bike?

Have you recently changed grips? If the throttle grip is too close to the bar end this can happen. Took me a bit to figure it out. Back it off an 1/8" and see if that helps.

its EFI

no new grips .....

i was thinking something with the cruise control ??? the cruise works as it should though so i dont know

Try a little Inox or dri-slide in your cables.

Make sure the cable housing(s) are not pulling out of the throttle body mounts due to the housings being in a bind somewhere. Since you have cruise, one of the cables will have a black boot with 2 electrical spades with wires plugged in. This is just in front of the tank on the right neck and is another spot that cables can bind up.
