Hey all, new to this site.. talked with Harley about putting 14 inch apes on my bike they want 1500... debating doing it myself but wondering if anyone has links to exactly what parts I need besides the bars and recommendations as far as a black stainless Brake clutch extensions and a wiring kit.. want to see price different of parts opposed to Harley's , thanks in advance... also if I just went with 12s is there a need to extend wires and cables or can I get away with factory?

I put 12" Monkey Bars on my '15. People say Yaffe's bars measure out taller than he claims. The bars were expensive, probably a good bit more than Harley bars, I used the Namz extension kit they sell to install. People say you don't have to lengthen the wires either, but I wanted to maintain the factory routing and make sure they didn't pull, or rub on the point inside the bars.
Bought the maintenance manual and had at it. Conservatively a 4-5 hour job for a decent, non-professional wrench. I'm ****, to the point of cardboard cutouts for every bolt and retorquing every single bolt to spec and it took me about 8.
