Yes my 08 has a smaller tire and the old style frame .A riding buddy has an 09 and his is a bigger rear tire and redesigned frame.

I've got an 09 FLHTC 180 tire six gallon tank, different frame
handles really well.

I got a friend looking for a bike and I told him to look for a 09 or newer and wanted to make sure I was right. But I did find a nice 06 ultra that was priced right it's gonna be up to him the 09's and up are a little north of his budget

then he either has to settle for the older bike, continue saving to increase his budget, or (gasp) finance a portion....

my thoughts are not to settle, get the bike that you want. if that means financing, or waiting, it's worth it.
