Default Rain Dust Cover

I tried to search a bit and couldnt find much on a poll or a general agreed upon best fitting quality cover for a Street Glide.

What is the most popular choice for covers here for us Road Glide/Street Glide people? Im not too worried about rain, i am under a car port, but, dust, mild rain, and other qualities are what im shooting for.

i just purchased a Nelson-Rigg Defender 2000 in XXL. According to some reviewers on amazon, a few people claimed that the XXL fit a street glide PERFECTLY. Sadly, it does not. not even close. it is HUGE, and i mean HUGE. Nelson Riggs, on that model cover doesnt give a measurements, just list bike type, and refers to the XXL as for Harley Touring. the Must be referring to the Eletra Glide with every piece of luggage they come with is what they are referring to. Im sure that would fit better.

I am stuck with a carport, for a few more years, and i like to keep my stuff clean. Im in the northwest, so tree pollen is crazy here. And what really pisses me off, is on Tuesdays, the landscapers at my apartments blow the parking lot, and my currently $18 generic cover, isnt fitting well enough (fits better than the nelson riggs xxl, but is just so cheap and really has no elastic to it, about as thin as tent fabric, or thinner), and when they blow with the backpack blowers, all the dirt gets blows up inside my cover, and it makes a terrible mess, EVERY WEEK. and i have the vivid black, and im really trying to keep things from spider webbing or swirl marks, but i have to clean it, i can just leave all the dust. So i thought i upgrade the cover, and i guess i must have picked the wrong one.

What is the most popular choice for covers here for us Road Glide/Street Glide people? Im trying to stay under $100.

Any personal recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

'High quality' and 'low budget' are generally mutually exclusive terms. When I was in your position, I got the HD cover and was happy with the results. Wind is often the biggest factor in these situations. The flapping will wear a hole in yer paint.

i don't have a wind issue where i live. But, Dust and Dirt are an issue.

I haven't looked at the Harley ones. I will have to do that.

I luckily have a Garage that i can use for the Winter, but not for daily use during the ridding season. Its about 20 minutes away.

What do the Harley ones cost? Are there any other popular brands?

I was in the same position, stored under a carport. I have had two of this brand for my GW. Fits very tight and has straps underneath to keep it tight. I also have one for my Night Train.

The HD covers are also good.

which one did you get from that store? and is it a nice thick canvas? the one that i have that was $18 is as thin or thinner than a camping tent, as expected for that price. Its held up actually really well though, lol.

Did you get the exact one in that link?:

You might also consider a Bike Barn or similar that totally encloses the bike without touching it. I realize that I'm getting outside of yer budget parameters but you're also indicating that this is a long term deal. After you've experimented with several cheap ones, you coulda got a great one and paid once.

Also, look at California Car Covers...xlnt quality, several options, quite possibly custom fit.

I had a Dowco and actually used it to cover the bike sitting outside for a full year with no other covering such as your carport. It kept the bike protected nicely and was easy to put on and take off. The bottom is made out of heat resistant fabric so hot pipes won't burn it.

I have the Bilt Deluxe cover in size large and fits very well on my Street Glide. I purchased it at CycleGear. Don't pay full retail price, these covers go on sale all the time.

The HD covers are pretty good. My GF got one for me a few years ago for my Softail Deluxe when I had a carport. They have a drawstring on the bottom and the back to snug it up and holes for a lock if you need that. I have a 4-car garage now, but I still use it for the dust.

They also come in all black w/o the logo for those that don't like advertising.
