Treating engine temperature with fans and little wings etc., pushing air through the fins can exit on the rider. I try to allow more cool air to blow on me and if I thought the engine was running hot, which mine doesn't, I'd be looking at more oil cooling.
My trouble is the Seattle traffic. That is when I use the fans. My bike would get so hot that it would go into ETIMS then would ping knock and make a ton of racket for about five miles. The fans solved that completely. I dont think the stock oil pump moves enough oil to cool the engine enough to avoid my problem.

Many guys remedy that with a higher flow oil pump and a Baisley relief spring. YMMV, but is much cheaper than a $300 fan, especially if you're going to do the cam bearings, cams and lifters anyway.
Just installed a set of "Love-Jugs" on my 2011 Road King Classic. I'm not a mecanic, but love to tinker. It took me about 8 hours but it did all fit as adversised. I even emailed the company on a Saturday and got a resosnce back right away! They even called twice on Sunday to check in with me. Great product and really great service. Now it's time to ride!
