I was considering doing the same, since I never used the cigarette lighter. Did you use the wiring off the cigarette lighter and plugged it directly Aux 12V Power Port or you needed to use the wiring harness that comes with Aux 12V Power Port?
I used the wire that was on the cig lighter - it just pull off the wires from the socket, put the new one in and reconnect. Make sure to ground the outside of the socket and positive to the center; for some reason I remember the lighter being wired the opposite way... but I did this back in '09 so I might be confused
I put the iPod adapter on my radio and ran the wire to one of the glove boxes on my RGU. I can put my phone in the glovebox and it will play. Music and charge. Now what to do with the lighter?
