I need a drivers back brace any suggestions and will I need to buy a bracket seprate...? I have a 2016 Street glide.

I have the HD Adjustable Back Rest, love it, would not have anything else.
A small gas shock pushes it into your back to the limit that you choose when you hold down the lever, all on the fly. Folds down forward to ease passenger entry/exit if needed.
Why pull over and line up holes and such to adjust your backrest when you can make unlimited amounts of adjustments to your liking on the fly? I admit, I generally leave it alone, but on occasion if I feel the need for whatever reason (Long trip, etc.) it is great to have the adjustable feature.

the mount and backrest are 2 separate parts.

I agree; have the same on my '09. At about 60k (have 80k now) miles the gas shock wore out and I found the OEM who stocks them; I replaced the gas shock and its like new again.

Mustang Black Plain Driver Backrest Kits for Harley Davidson 2009-2014 Touring - One Size (Part Number: 79610)
Got that off amazon for 250. Everything you need. It fits my 16 RGU (the part number says so on mustangs site even though amazon says different. mustang is out of stock currently.)
Had one on my 14 fatboy also. Love it.

This....love my mustang adjustable drivers backrest. If not amazon, Revzilla should have it.
