Default I Might Suggest

The only thing that comes to mind as a "must have" would be a Captain Itch Crotch Cooler. You'll be AMAZED at how much more comfortable you'll be without the engine heat blasting at your thighs!

After a few miles you'll probably benefit by "adjusting" everything to fit your body sizes. Start with the bars, move on to the hand levers and end with the shifter levers. I doubt that the dealer adjusted ANY of these! It's much more comfortable to not have top reach for anything and just have everything where it serves you the easiest! Adjusting the shift levers will also make finding neutral MUCH easier.

And lastly, congrats on the new ride! BUT -

for longer rides, if it doesn't have one, a quick detach kit with a detachable sissy bar and back rest pad for her and a driver's backrest for you. Congrats!

Thanks for all the input. I'm a short bastard at 5'6" and a 29"(ish) inseam. So there will be no highway pegs (I can't reach em) and no footboard extensions for the same reason, I'm actually comfy where they are.
Backrest was on it before we rode home, the wife wouldn't ride otherwise.
I changed the PIN at the dealership (I work in IT and I'm very security oriented)

The shifter, both heel and toe, are higher than I'd like, I was planning on adjusting them both downward slightly. The job looks pretty straightforward, that'll probably happen this weekend if the rain around here would give it a rest.

I think the bars would be more comfortable if they were rotated just slightly (maybe 1"?) down and toward me, but this doesn't look as simple as it was on the Low Rider?

Lighting. Suggestions? I really like the look of the front end, it's one of the things I really like about the RK. usually i swap out the front bulb for a Sylvania Silverstar, but that's about it. Are there better options that don't break the bank and don't change the look of the front end? As for the rear, I'm looking into options; an LED tail light, and possibly LED tail lights for the back of the bags, I haven't decided yet, but I'm open minded about changing the look of the rear.

Otherwise, I'll ride it until something comes to me. It's good to know that there guys that have ridden them are happy with the functionality of the bike, which leaves more possibilities open for customization of the appearance to individual tastes.

Nice looking RK, congrats.
As far as highway pegs, you can get the ones that are offset. They can attach to the highway bar and reach back to you. (Hope that made sense)
Ok, well see here

Have a Dyna wide glide that was a little rough until I added Progressive shocks. Rides very nice now. Still bought an Electra Glide Ultra Classic to aid with wife's back issues from work. She loves the bagger!

When I had my RK, I put the HD Daymaker headlight and Aux lights on it. Pricey but worth it, IMHO. I looked at other options (LED bulbs) but could not find a solution I liked for the Rushmore RK, plenty out there for the prior models.

For the rear brake and all turn signals, I simple went with LED bulbs I bought off of Amazon. They did the job. I also added a Custom Dynamics Run/Turn/Brake module as I changed the rear turns to red so they would function as run, turn and brake lights, making me more visible to other drivers pulling up behind me since when braking they would flash.

Congrats on the new bike! Love the color. I also recently had pull the trigger on something a little more comfortable after taking the wife for a long distance ride.
