Cool looking bike. I found my '11 RK for $12,000 with 5,000 miles on it last year. Plenty of deals around you just have to look and not get set one one thing. Mine was a color I wasn't keen on but I was going to paint it anyway.
This is coming from someone who always looks for the cheapest option. Best decision I made was getting a new one and paying a few $$ more per month.
ill admit my opinion is biased, my 04 road king police, converted to road glide is the best bike ive ever owned. thats out of approx 30 different bikes over 25 years. im a little less than 200k on the clock and its my daily rider.
i would not sell mine for any price. its like the energized bunny it keeps going and going.
I guess that's the difference with bikes down south. You can barely find any road kings 2004 and up for less than $8,000. If you do they are bone stock and you'll drop a couple grand right off the bat to get it the way I want it.
There is a forum member in Virginia selling his 2011 RK, showroom stock and condition with new rubber, 43K. Listed for $8000. That's the current market. I see this bike was posted prior on this thread. It's a bargain for the condition it's in.

looking to upgrade my soft tail to a road king. Found a pretty sweet looking Road King police edition. It's a 2004 with 15,000 miles for $8,300. He won't budge on the price. Do you guys think that is a fair price? Photo is attached. Thanks in advance!
Did you procure that Schweet 2004 King??
Priced is fair for all the bells and whistles....Though, stock exhaust???
Low miles is a plus....do you know if the cam tensioners been addressed? Or looked at?
If you bought it, I have a HD crashbar/Hiway bar for it in my part bin. Just pay shipping and a fine cigar..it's yours...PM me...Congrats
Bike is sharp as hell. And as others have said, there are much better deals to be had. A new RK is twice that. That would be 13 years newer. I realize that's quite a bit more money, but that bike is at least $1300 too much.
As other people have stated, what people ask and what people will take are drastically different. Or, the people never sell their bikes. One of my favorite hobbies is searching CL and seeing the ridiculousness that people ask for their Harley's.
I'm going to look at this today just for the heck of it. I might end up liking it. 2011 Fat Boy Lo with 6,000 miles for $9,000
STs are completely different bikes. If you've rode a touring and love it, you may be a little disappointed. The suspension is different and the motor is solid mounted with a counter balancer. They're two different bikes. I say more power to you, but definitely ride them first before you start talking money.
