Left the ignition on, battery dead. Seems like a pain to get to the battery. How long would it take to recharge with the trickle charger (750 ma) connector? Is there an easy way to simply connect a battery jumper pack?
Thanks,
Sam
You can jump it . But with any dead battery you should allow what ever source you are using to jump it charge for a while.
You can hook a jump to that battery charge connector or a larger charger.
I connected a heavy duty jumper battery to the charge cable, blew the 20 amp fuse in the connector cable between the battery pack and the charge cable on the bike.
Taking the short cut can do $600 dollars damage to your bike. Only jump in an emergency. Running on a dead battery and letting charge system try to build it back is not worth the risk.
Forget about that stupid on/off switch on the bar except practice it once a week with your hand on the key switch.

Go right to the batt wire on the starter with pos , a ground for the black wire.
+1 Great info.
Also, do with a for reals battery charger, not a jumper pack, not a battery tender.
You want to charge the battery before starting it, unless you like taking chances in smoking your stator or voltage regulator.
I had to jump mine in a restaurant parking lot, jumped it of the battery, rode it home, put on tender and never a problem since, just had battery checked at a battery place, said it was still in good condition, after I rode it a couple thousand miles since the jump
