Too bad you will have to put up with watching the Vikings after riding season is over unless you get DirecTV's Sunday ticket, lol.

Alex is a nice area!

I put miles on every month this past year except for February. That can change from year to year, but April-November is normal. You will get used to the cold and 40 won't seem so bad after the first Artic cold spell.........

Oh man, we celebrate that stuff.

In October we ride the "Frost yer Nuts" run and in the spring we ride the "Thaw yer Nuts" run. It's big fun living here but being so close to so many lakes will cut into your riding time.

Even in the North we can sometimes ride April to Nov, didn't get out til May this year, but rode last Thanksgiving. You'll be braggin to all your Southern friends after your first week of 20 below. Gets kinda old after the 3rd week.
Just watch Fargo before you move here and you'll be fine. I'm a transplant from Chicago and my wife is from Miami, culture shock for sure.
Ya din der doncha know, bring a hot dish.

I've lived in southern Minnesota my whole life, except for a couple years in the Navy, and I've never heard anyone talk like they do in the movie Fargo....and I even went to college in Fargo ND for a year.[8D]

Like most others here, I'm usually riding from first week of April through Thanksgiving...then its winter mods time, to do all my serious service work and add ons.

I live in Mankato, and I'm fortunate to have a lot of lake area to ride around here....keeps the roads from getting too straight.

Sure, they way people talk in the movie "Fargo" is a blown up stereotype. Just like the southerners and New Englanders they portray in the movies.

However, with grandparents from Sweden and a grandma in-law from Norway I DID hear it a lot. Growing up I heard a lot of the old timer’s talk that way, and as time goes by, it has almost all but disappeared. Too bad.

One of the best things is that you're only about 12 hours from the Black Hills. Although there are some awful nice rides in the northern part of the state and don't rule out the mississippi river valley.
