Hi i had a dyna my first Harley had it for three years and was getting 43 to 45 mpg and then traded to road king 2011 check mileage today and i am getting 51.2 mpg
just curious on what you guys are getting on your touring models i thought 45 mpg was good I'm liking 51.2
You ridin' with a good tail wind, bro.
My 2011 FLHRC 103 averages about 44mpg.
I use the free "Fuelio" app on my smart phone, and log in all my vehicles. In time, you will see a pattern and the average will jump out at you.
My '17 RG got crazy good fuel mileage 50+ way up in elevation, average 43-45 down here in south La.
I could get better, but I would be bored to death if I had to ride like that all the time.

THIS!
My basically stock 09 flhtcu with 96" TC has got as high as 49.5-50mpg up in elevation like OP looks to be in and 42.5-44mpg in lower alt.
After i added Nightrider adjustable enrichment resistors to correct a slight lean surge issue while also smoothing out idle a bit along crisping up throttle response a bit overall fuel mileage was reduced 1-1.5mpg.
That small loss in mpg was well worth the overall improvement in engine performance, & driveability my bike got post installing Nightriders adjustable enrichment resistors.
I have a 2008 ultra with arlen ness big sucka air cleaner, jackpot slip on mufflers and night rider X.I.E.D. I ride two up most times and 50% of that would be with luggage.I get between 38 and 40 mpg if i keep it under 75.my best was 43 mpg but i drove like an old man, thats no fun.my 1998 ultra with a pc III ,K&N air cleaner and rush mufflers got around 43 mpg on average. The evo deffinetly got better millage under the same conditions, but it is a smaller engine.
About 43-46 here. A lot depends on how you're loaded and riding. The wind and terrain come into play as well. Altitude, fuel quality..... etc.... Best I have gotten has been close to 50. This has been true on the last 3 bikes before I went big bore on the 2010. That one gets less now.
Come to think of it, the WORST mpg I ever got was about 40, and that was a long all out run on interstate that stayed in excess of 80 mph the whole time.
Big black thunder clouds and rain were following behind us, man we had to GO! Almost no traffic, we hit 100 in some stretches, we were skint back!
I pulled my plugs the next day for a look, man they sure were pretty and clean.
