So I am putting together my new tourpack. I am installing the HD locking latch set. For a tourpack it is supposed to be installed on the right side. The problem is, it simply doesn't fit! It will clasp on the peg but you can't close the latch without a lot of force. Once it is closed, you need a hammer to undo it. Has anyone had this issue? What have you done to remedy it?
On the bike side, the back mounts aren't perfectly round, they're ovalish. They can rotate to give a snug fit. Just loosen up the screws on the end and rotate it little until it fits.

Yeah...I discovered that myself after reading the instructions.
To be fair, Harley instructions suck! That's why nobody ever reads them.
No, actually, they're excellent. But they're also detailed and accurate. Most people lose their minds reading them because of this. But they aren't You Tube videos which pretty much does everything for you.

If you truly believe that, you never attempted to install a Harley Boom amplifier into a 2012 Streetglide using only the provided instructions. That one even stumped actual HD mechanics. Oh, and it was technically plug and play. Except you literally needed to disassemble wire looms and harnesses, move around wires in the harnesses. I learned a lot about my glides electricsl system though.
