HEAT
I've been putting the break in miles on my '07 RoadGlide. It runs good, but there seems to be a lot more heat coming off the motor. I hope I made the right choice on the purchase of an '07. Anyone have any information or thoughts.
Seems to be a known issue...but it looks like there is a cure.

I've been looking into this upgrade myself.

Do a search or two. There is a lot of information on the heat issue. basically, the '07 come from the factory running lean. Unfortunately, no way around it. Do some searches here on the forum, and you will get some solutions.
Welcome to OUR WORLD....
Do a Stage 1 (Better Performance\Sound Better\Fuel mgnt System to give your putt breathing roon & more fuel & will run Cooler)- Change To Amsoil\Mobil 1 (will run cooler) - Buy RJ's Orignals saddlebag Shields (keep the dang heat off your thighs & Pass legs)- Install Oil Temp Gauage (So you can watch the temp rise and worry even more)... (lol)
Then Ride the wheels off of you New Ride....

I just picked up an 07 road glide my self. To me the heat hasnt been an issue unless Im stuck in traffic but Im sure all models get hot in traffic.
I have ordered a new set of pipes and headers along with a fuel manager. Some complain that they shouldnt have to do this to get the heat down but Ive
done it on all my bikes because I like the better sound and the increase in performance. Do a search and you will get all the info you need to make the decision for yourself.

Do your homework. There are several ways to go. RJs originals makes I think the best heat shield. True Duals helps, Synthetic juice. Good Dyno tune. We haven't yet hit the worst heat in South Florida but my Glide is greatly improved since making the changes. It's amazing. Spend 30 grand for a bike and then start throwing away parts and replacing with more expensive parts. Something wrong with this picture.

I did a stage 1 upgrade on mine about 2 weeks at the first service. While it can't get rid of the heat it sure doesn't burn off my pant legs like it used to. Other than performance, heat reduction and sound I am getting about 5mpg better fuel mileage!!!!
See my parts in my sig.

RJ's Originals. I just got them in the mail yesterday, and they are AWESOME!!! Obvious difference. Easy to install. They got them to me very quick as well. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone ever!
