09's and heat issue

09's and heat issue
Does anyone know if the excessive heat issue is totally fixed with the 09's? do you still need EIO's or any of that other stuff to lower heat or can you just ride these things?

The 09's are supposed to be much cooler than the 07 and 08 bikes. I've got an 08 and have not noticed any heat problem. The only mods I've done are stage 1 pipes, air filter and download. So if the 09's are cooler than the 08's they must be good to go!

08 EGC No Heat Problems
I've heard the talk about heat issues with the 07's but haven't heard anything bad about the 09's as yet. I have an 08 and have no heat problems to speak of. Seems to be running at what most would call normal temps for this bike. Digital oil temp guage averages 200 to 220 degrees at 75 to 85 degrees outside temp. Remember riding in alot of stop and go traffic last summer on a 90's day and oil temp read 230 when I got home. The highest reading I've reached and I check it almost every time I get off the bike just for S & G. Acceptable................

Put XIED's on my 08 FLHT no more hot thighs ... am sure took the exhaust down quite a bit .. know for sure dropped the oil temp 20 degrees.. check www.Nightrider.com

itd still lean (thank th epa) but the heat is now moved with the pipes and (cheap plastic )heat sheilds so u dont notice it as much.
