Same with mine, have had no issues and New Mexico gets hot in the summer. Sometimes parking it after riding I can feel a heat wave coming up on me, but overall, it has never been something I worried too much about.

I did a 200 mile ride today on my 08' SG and a friend on his new 09' ultra. It was 80 degrees out we both have stage I air cleaners, I run Thunder Headers, He has Rinehart slip ons. We checked the oil temp at several stops. My 08' stayed at around 219 or less, he was at 255 to 260 all day. Does the crossover under the bike cause the higher oil temp?

I put the RJ's on my FLHRC, an oil cooler, D&D Exhaust (Fat Cats) 107 Axtell, and tell ya truth it's hot on a motorcycle in the middle of the summer. It's great in the fall and the spring.... come on we're talking big engines making lot's of heat... fairings, lowers, bags.... etc... My guess is put the same stuff on a softtail or dyna and you will be hot. It's not terrible and it's better than riding in a a/c car unless you're wearing a tux.
