Default dumb question about bluetooth

my girl and I just got back from a long trip and I realized wearing helmets, it is very difficult to converse during trips, we recently bought full face modular helmets that are "blue tooth ready" my question is what would I need for a communication system utilized in my 06 street glide? do they make a kit? thanks in advance

Check the brand website for your helmets, to see if they offer a kit. Mrs B and I have Schuberth helmets with their built-in bluetooth. We can talk while riding on the same bike, also when we are both riding solo for a decent distance apart. I don't recall if Schuberth called our helmets 'bluetooth ready', but their own kit was designed to easily install, which involved unclipping some of the interior linings, then putting everything back as it was.

There are several brands of aftermarket bluetooth kits. In fact our Schuberth are associated with Scala IIRC.

Make of helmets? Contact the manufacturer or their website. You will then know what the helmets were designed for. The Bell helmet, Sena Cavalry and others. Here is a typical link....

I think there's some confusion about what you're asking.
The headsets you have (or can buy) should be able to communicate with each other, phones, mp3s, gps systems, etc.
They will not communicate with the radio in your bike. To my knowledge there is nothing that can be added to make your faring system communicate with your headsets.
There are ways to make your faring system communicate with Bluetooth but it is a receive only thing, not 2 way which wouldn't help you at all.

Actually if you purchase the SENA Bluetooth headsets, Sena sells a transmitter that plugs into the bikes headset plug that can transmit the audio from the radio to the headsets for both rider and passenger. Not pushing SENA but I use them and they work great. As ORradtech stated they will not let you use the bikes intercom, they become the intercom between helmets, just need to the radio transmitter to hear its audio (music) thru the Bluetooth headsets.

Hmmm, didn't realize that was available.
Pricey though. $150 for the device and $25 for the cable on top of the headsets. And of course the extra complexity and wires.
But you could at least hear the CB if not transmit.

My friends and I all have the Sena 20s and they work very well to talk back and forth to each other. Will also let you make and receive phone calls, blue tooth music from your phone or pod.

We used Cardo Scalarrider Q3's in the past . Now have SENA S20's 12-13 hour battery line is nice and the work well. Controls are easier to operate .
And as of today we can blue tooth them to the boom audio.

I am very lucky to have a wife that has the same level of interest in talking while riding that I have - zero. Good luck with the project
