Sell your Sportie and wait or take the deal.
You're reading issues from a few disgruntled owners about the '07's.
The heat can be resolved with a few mods that you would probably want to do anyways.
With all of those 6 gears you need one or two to talk to ya anyway so you know where you're at. (I know I do)
They are awesome bikes. Take a test ride, you won't be sorry.
I just ordered an 08 Road King Classic in one of the new colors being offered. I can't speak on heat or if the fifth gear whine is an issue or not, but I would personally like to see you wait so I would know of someone else who was feeling like me as the days slowly drag on over the next seven weeks or so to delivery date.
My riding season is little longer than yours though so I would understand if you left me all alone to wait!

I am a brand new Road king owner, I never owned a harley before I have owned other brands. I talk to the dealer about the "heat" problems with the 07. What he told me was that the rear cylinder was tuned incorectly, it was running lean there for causing heat. All the new ones that are in the dealerships are fix. for all I know it could be a lie to convince to buy the bike. I dont care I love my Scoot. I have only 85 miles on mine and I plan on putting about 50,000 more on it. I dontthinkmatters if you buy a 08 or a 07 either way you cant go wrong.
well............lots of pro's and con's for sure. I hate to say it but I really think it depends on the bike you actually get....see my thread on "Road King Problems" I have been bitterly unhappy with my 07 Roadking and am still the Happy Owner of an 88 FXRS.but.........have ridden a number of 07 bikes that do not have the issues that mine does and will be happy to take possession of any one of them......there is a meeting in the morning to see if the dealer will accomodate me...I will post the results.....
