I've got one on order for my 2007 Road King. Seems after investigating all that were out there, DCC was the best for the money. I'll report back once I put it on!
if you don't need a radio mount, the early H-D fairings found on eBay fit perfectly, remove the 4 nuts at the detachable mount and attach. 10 minutes. they usually run about $200.
No, you got the Road King because you did not want a fixed fairing same as me. Take the bike on a 2000 mile trip and check back with me on how well you like the windshield. The way I see it, with the quick release DCC fairing, I get the best of both worlds. If the price of it is a concern, most likely a Harley was not a good choice in the first place. I could not see putting a full fairing on and not having tunes also, soI took the plunge and ordered it with full stereo and HD color match.

That's why I got mine. I put it on and take it off the Road King all the time..............depends on the ride.5 minutes to switch. AndI have a windshield I can put on if I feel like that too. Maximum flexibility. All three of the major aftermarket fairings are good products. Eachhas its positives and negatives. It really comes down to feature preferences. Deadcenter is a good choice.
Ok Ram, I can't do it in seconds but it actually doesn't take me20 minutes oreven 5minutes. I will time myself next time, but all I have to do is loosen up the 4 windshield acorn nuts, disconnect the power connection, slip the fairing off, and retighten the nuts. I am going to go out on a limb here and guess..maybe...two minutes? LOL. By the way, I don't disagree with pretty much anything you said. The biggest lesson I learned is to get them pre painted from the manufacturer. Painting it after you receive it is a potential black hole unless you or your brother in law is a painter.
I have had a Hoppe fairing on mine since 04 and its great. Can be removed in less than a minute. when i first got it i thought I would switch em up.but after i rode with it its hardly ever off .Except to clean the bike. JimmyZ
Mine is on the way painted and ready to rock and roll out of the box. I will say I had to rob a bank to pay for it, but what the heck is a few more thousand on top of the 20K I have in her now. One thing I know for sure is that if HD had a touring bike with detachable everything, they would only need one model! Do you know if the HD chrome windshield molding fit the DCC fairing?
