Default WELL IT HAPPEN.

WE LIVE IN PENSACOLA. Around 6 pm we decided to take a ride. We noticed this guy following us about 6 feet off the back of our bike. I motioned for him to get off my butt but it only made it worse. We stopped at the red light and ask him what the deal was but it got worse so we decided to go to the store right down the road and call the law. We pulled off and he blasted by us and slamed on breaks. Smoke was flying. We hit the dreaks and tried to stop but couldnt so i turned into the store and so did he to try and hit us. I couldnt avoid him and we hit has right front door. He backed up and shot me the bird as i was laying there and skidded off. People everywhere saw it and called the law. Two guys went after him and made him come back. When the law got there the guy started in on the police so they arrested him. They hauled us off to the hospital. They charged him with reckless endangerment , leaving the scene of an accident with serious injuries. DUI . $15000 bond. So this guy tried to kill us and he got this ????
Ask me how much his insurance is trying to help us out ? I broke my clavical fractured three ribs contusions and a hell of a head ache. The bike is in the shop and it don’t look good. This bike was two months old.
The officer said the guy was under the influence of something and was out of his head. He said it was road rage and it just happen to be me he was directing his anger at. The guy refused to take a drug test. Refused to take a alcohol test. He wouldnt say a word to anyone at the jail. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens.
Will I ride again ?????????? Dan right. I refuse to let him take away what i enjoy BUT ! I have a new set of rules while driving. No matter what the situation or circumstances is , it’s not worth it to cause and confrontation while your on the bike and their in a car. They will take you out period. If they want the road that bad......let them have it.

Holy Crap man... That is quite a story. Get well and get an attorney. If he has insurance, you will need representation to get reimbursed. Make sure your insurance company knows exactly what happened and request a copy of that police report ASAP! If you happened to get the names of any of the witnesses don't lose them! Keep all of that stuff with you and treat it like your life depended on it. You will need all of that info later.

And like I said to someone else before... if the other guy's insurance company calls you on the phone... DON"T TALK TO THEM! Politely tell them that you are retaining an attorney and that he/she will be in touch.

I'm glad it wasn't worse and will take your advice to heart. I was in a similar situation and responded much like you did. I don't think I will do it again. There are just too many morons out there. What he did to you was nothing short of aggravated assault with a motor vehicle. He should be put away.

First let me say, that the truth is you should have not engaged him to begin with, just got out of his way. When your on a bike and someone else is in a car/truck in a confrintation the bigger vehicle wins. On the other hand, He was lucky, some of us carry guns and are not afaraid to use them.

1. Glad you're going to be okay.
2. Get a lawyer who specializes in motorcylcle accidents.
3. Contact your insurance company and let them know what happened(in case you have to rely on them to get some things done). His insurance comapny is not your friend.
4. Don't talk to his insurance company or sign anything from them. Let all communications be done with lawyer from step 2.
5. Stick with this and make sure the DA doesn't let this one plead out. Be there every time this a**hat shows up for court for anything.
6. Good luck and hope you are riding again soon as you're healed. Oh, yeah, did I mention don't accept any settlement or sign anything from his insurance company without confirmation from your lawyer.

He'll probably get some lame-o sentence of probation, license suspended for a couple of months, and anger management classes.

Seems like you did all the things I do. I motion nicely for them to back off if they are too close. If they get aggressive, I usually let them by, but that hasn't happened that often. I try to ride in rural Jersey more than the big city. In one ride to NYC, I had more incidents than in a year of riding in Jersey.

Damn cagers got no respect...

Everyone jumps the gun with a lawyer. See what they offer first...that one's free. An attorney get's 1/3 of everything (med bills, pain and suffering). Why should an attorney get 1/3 of your suffering money, he didn't get hurt. Only get an attorney after you've exhausted all negotiations.
