I'd be more concerned with no fobs and a disabled security system! I'm assuming and HOPING your using the key to lock the ignition so it can't be rotated to start?

Getting that security system enabled and new fobs would be first on my list. A 2016 might look very tempting sitting there to someone who can start it without a fob!

A trip to the dealer is the best I think! Enjoy your new scoot!
Lots of us have bikes that don't even have security systems.

True, but if your bike came with it standard, wouldn't you want it to work?

The OP never did make it clear if it is enabled and just using PIN to start it. I am not sure what is involved to enable it but the dealer will have to connect their computer to the bike to register the FOB. My dealer didn't even charge for this and I believe the Key and FOB were only $85 for both (35/50).

I personally wouldn't want anything to do with it - I'd probably have it removed.

I'm still just wondering what makes the OP think that he has security installed - he never said how he's starting the bike. If he's using the PIN each time, that sucks. Otherwise, he might just be assuming that he has security.

It suggests that he just turns the ignition on and starts the bike.

You're right, and I did see that. However, still questions. If the OP purchased the bike from a non-dealer, who disabled the security system? Does that require Digital Technician?

I looked in my service manual (newer Road King), and it appears that the FOB must be present to even completely remove the security module. So, did the business (seller) remove/disable it, and just throw the FOB away?

That seems a bit strange to me, but whatever floats your boat.

Of course it has security, unless someone removed it as it is standard equipment on a 2016 FLHTK.

Eh, I just don't have any need for the security system. LOL.

But, that's good to know that it's standard on the bike in question. Thank you!

Can someone let me know how to get this done please
Are you sure the fob is not stashed in one of the bags or tourpak somewhere? Its kind of bizarre to have a 2016 limited with a non-functioning security system. To reset the pin or to put the bike in transport mode you need the proximity fob. How are you starting the bike, using the pin to disable the alarm? Is the dash security light flashing when the bike is parked?

His bike should have two keys with fobs!

When you next buy a brand spanking shiney new bike I suspect you will be pleased to know it has a security system!
