It also depends on what you're used to. In 2012 I went from a softtail to a new RGC. I noticed rear wheel wobble/weave on highway curves right away. The rubber mounting of the engine to reduce vibration does make it noticeable. I installed an aftermarket stabilizer and the problem went away. Two years ago my buddy went from a softtail to 2010 touring bike and immediately noticed it too. We installed a stabilizer on his bike and it fixed it.

If you're going to load a bike to it's limit (at 6' 2" you are not a little guy, plus passenger and gear) and then push it hard into sweepers, you have to have everything just right- tire pressure/air shocks/load distribution.
If not, you could kill yourself and your passenger. Especially since it's not your bike and they all handle a little different.
I wouldn't judge any bike by a rental that you didn't even check the tire pressure with a gauge.

Hey man. Lets try to be a little less racist here ok. That term is a no go. Im sure there are Japanese people that rides HD's also. Dont be so closed minded.

Anyways to answer your question. A wheel weight might have come off throwing it off balance. Just because you inspected it doesnt mean it is still ok. Those could be one of many factors of having that rear wobble a bit.

Huh. Just came from a Jap bike meet a few weeks ago. That's what it's called. Big Jap bike show next week. That's what it's called. Was at an antique Jap bike meet the other month. That's what it was called. Dealer here is a Jap bike dealer. That's what's in his business name. In fact it's part of two other dealers names or descriptions that I can think of around here.

Really no confusion by the word as to which four your talking about; Honda Yamaha Suzuki and Kawasaki. Certainly not Triumph, Moto-Guzzi, KTM, Ural, etc. Oh, there are a few others, but those four are very dominantly it.

Of course, one could go all bōsōzuko and "rice" out a Harley.
