My left side RKC saddle bag got sit on, or stood, on or something heavy placed on it, or what ever I don't have a clue, but what I got is an OUT OF SHAPED LID. i have tried to reshape it with my hands but no luck. The bags and lids are made out of plastic, and covered with leather, so you would think it could be sprung back into place, but No. Strange thing about Family/friends/people, something happens to a bike and No Body knows a Cotton Picking thing! I don't get all bent out of shape very often, but I don't find something wrong with my bike just every day either! Ok, so now that I got that off my chest, I'll ask kindly and politely, does anyone have any ideas on how to reshape my bag lid, or should I start looking for some pull off cop bags and shoot them BBQ black? I like the RK classic bags, but I think to only need one hand to open the lids would be wonderful.
Crap like that pisses me off. I came home from a trip many years ago, and found a dent in one of my bikes' tank. It had to be one of my OL's adult kids, or her daughter's boyfriend. Since nobody knew, I made her buy me a new frigging tank. I don't play that crap.
And, yeah - you might be best off replacing that bag.

several years ago, i purchased a leather covered tour pak than came on some CVO model because i wanted something that could be used between multiple bikes without painting.
it got damaged during shipping and was difficult to get the lid to close and stay closed
i filled the bath tub with hot water, real hot water and put the tour pak in it and put weighs in the bottom to hold it down so it would not float.
soaked that thing for about 15 to 20 minutes it was easier to mold back into place. got it workable and used for several years
Try a hair dryer ( or heat gun .. be careful ) and warm up the plastic as much as you can without damaging any coverings ... Plastic has a "memory" and many time this will work ... I use to do this all the time on dirt bike fenders ... Good Luck
My FIL had the same issue when he left his RKC out in the sun for a few days in AZ, those bags will almost melt in a hot climate. Had that bike for 10 yrs here in Michigan and never had a problem, but after 1 summer in AZ they were toast.
A riding buddy had the same exact problem. He discovered it when he picked up his new bike from storage back in 2012. After trying all kinds of heat etc. Nothing really worked. A local plastic fab shop wouldn't even try. They said heating it enough to reshape it might even cause more distortion. In the end he just bought a new one. If you can't fix it check out ebay.
Well I think what I'm going to try next is a very small inner tube like a minibike go cart wheelbarrow "you know something that size and put my lid on it and put my knee in the center of the bend and try to dent it in the opposite direction. One of two things will happen (1) I'll Fix the problem, or (2) I'll give my self a great reason to buy a used set of cop bags. I'm having a great day after all I relaced my son's softball glove, and unstopped the kitchen sink for my wonderful wife ,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,so she can wash the dishes. LOL

That was going to be my suggestion. It's worked for me on 4 wheeler parts and plastic auto bumpers too.
