Default Stage 1 Dyno

Hi all,
Just finished putting on a set of 2" Rush slip ons, K&N A/C and the Power Comander on my Street Glide. NICE! Took it out for a spin and couldn't be happier. Will have it Dynoed on July 11th. Soonest date available. Bummer. Think I will notice any real differences with the dyno? The power commander came from Fuel-Moto and I have heard their maps are pretty decent.

With your combo, you will probably only see a few more ponies at best, time to assess the situation if it is worth the cost of the dyno for what you will gain as long as you have a map for your setup now.

Yup, I agree.............and dyno tune for a stage 1 build is pretty much useless. Check your plugs, and judge how it's running.........if you need to make minor adjustments do it yourself. Most of Fuel Moto's maps are pretty good, and the ones you get from the Power Commander website are pretty good too. Plus you might be able to get a map from someone online who has your same setup, it's so easy to change maps that you can try them out and stick with the one that feels the best.

If the bike runs good with the fuelmoto map I agree dont spend the $$ on a custom map but you cand probably get someone local to do 3 pulls for 35-40 bucks just to know were you are at if you just need to know, just know all dyno's are not equill you will pull 3 diffrent numbers on 3 diffrent dynos.

agree u prol wont get much more with a dyno tune but it is nice to see where u are at so u can see where weaknesses are and to see how much improvement u get off of mods down the road....

I humbly disagree with not having your bike dynoed. Motors are not alike. There is a +/- 5% swing plus other variables. This "could" result in 3 to 5 hp/tq.
The main thing I've noticed in dynoing stock bikes, however is the driveability. More responsive and better fuel mileage. Jamie's maps are very good, I used one. But in my opinion a good dyno is better.

Wanted to thank every one for the input. I think I will still get it dynoed. Want to make sure I got the closed throttle position right. I am not a guru when it comes to computers. Used my lap top and the intructions provided but want to double check. The guy who is doing the dyno will re-dyno for half price for one year. I plan on doing a cam and maybe some head work this winter so may be a base line could be interesting. Wil keep you all posted. Any cam suggestions? Looking for off the line pulling power. Low end but drivable on the highway at 80mph.
Thanks again,
TCC

If you are going to do a Stage II or Stage III (Big Bore kits) in the future, I would recommend the Andrews 37G. If you are not doing the Big Bore upgrade, then Andrews 26G is best! Also, go with the gear drive set up and get rid of those cam chains and tensioners. They are disaster waiting to happen! Just my opinion!
