Searching the forum I see a lot of mentions of Ohlins shocks as being the best. I see that FOX also has an offering for Harley Touring. I know FOX is very popular in the off road market.
I would think they are a good shock. However, only two spring choices. If one of those spring rates works for you, then good. Ohlins has many spring rate choices including several progressive rate options that work very good when riding 1up and 2up.
I'm not saying their good or bad. I have no experience with them as you already know will be the popular response. But for the huge price tag they carry, why not go with the extremely well known Ohlins? What has got you thinking these are a better option?
The reason Ohlins get so much mention around HDF is that they were the first premium brand to acknowledge Harleys! That in turn is largely down to one man, Howard Messner of HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal, who has been building Ohlins Harley shocks for us since before Ohlins themselves. He still offers more versions than Ohlins sell, as well as giving HDF members a decent discount. Lots of perfectly good reasons for contacting him....

Because I have experience with FOX from the snowmobile market and lifted trucks and they have always performed extremely well. This is a new offering from them and curious if they have come out with a market leading product.
The MoCo used to sell Fox shocks for the Dyna line, 1" lowered, billet, etc. Worst shocks I ever had on any motorcycle, ever. That is my experience. Long gone replaced by Progressive, still lowered but ride better then stock. Good luck.
Know someone who works there and they havent developed a good touring shock yet, theyre still a ways from having a reservoired shock. Had opportunities to be fitted and tested but from what I have seen for the FL frame, I wouldnt touch a set of those. They looked like a set of 412 shocks, and for the $$$ and hype, no thanks I will pass
