Default Security System

My 06 FLHX carb bike does not have a security system I do believe. I have no chirp, no lights flashing, the red key security icon on my guage doesn't light up at all at any time. Is it possible to buy the correct security module and add a harley security system to my bike or am I better off with an aftermarket security system suck as Gorilla 9 series or Scorpio i900r?

Thanks boss man!!! That answers one of my questions!

Do any of the forum members have any input on the factory security system vs and aftermarket? Which is all around better from real world experience.

I realize if someone wants it bad enough an alarm won't stop them but it will give me piece of mind with a loud alarm to draw attention and possibly scare off a potential thief.
Go Factory HD system or go aftermarket system?

Do a search in here. Factory security seems to be THE MAIN CAUSE of failure to start, being "locked out" on the road and keeping the OWNER from using the bike at will. Also be aware that a siren is an extra cost add on with the factory security. If you still want to put up with the potential hassles, have at it. There seems to be an additional add on that will contact a monitor you carry in your pocket if your bike is monkeyed with. Some after market systems come that way standard. As you say, if a pro wants YOUR machine, he will get it regardless. A van with a lift can "scoop it up" in seconds and the bad guy can work on it at his leisure when it is miles away.

Security Systems keep honest people honest ... Search threads for "Radio Shack" siren that is easily installed and compatible with the HD setup ... There are some stories of interference causing no start problems but most/all are resolved by simply pushing the scooter a few feet away and it fires right up.

I've found a used tssm for my bike on eBay with 2 push button fobs married to the system for $150 with a 6 month guarantee. More than likely I'd do the radio shack siren for $6 over the HD siren. I live out in the sticks and there are no "major" major cities near me without traveling a couple of hours. Even in town I seriously doubt a "professional" thief would even be relatively close to my area. The worst I'd have to worry about around here is the lone crack head jumping on my bike in the middle of the night and breaking the fork locks.
Im still contemplating on Factory vs after market security. Doe's anyone know if the factory alarm will sill function with a center stand? Most of all the videos I've looked at the alarm goes off when the bike is up right. Or does the bike also have to me moving and not just upright to trigger?

If you disturb the scooter enough it'll sound off

The factory alarm doesn't care what position it gets set in, on the jiffy stand, center stand, on its side, upside down whatever..... it will sound if it is moved from that position without being disarmed first.
