I have never cared for the look of fairing and alway joke about how even putting on the sissy bar and language rack make my Road Kings butt look fat, so tour paks were out.
We have really put on the miles this last year and have been talking about how a full tour bike might be an in the future.
The wife and I went down to check out the new M8 and just look. First having her would keep me out of trouble. Than both agreed the dealer would not meet what we want price wise. Ops I was wrong on both.
We are now happy owners of this 2017 Road Glide Ultra.
I bought an identical one. It's phenomenal, and it doesn't seem to me to handle or feel significantly different from the 2017 Road King I also own, other than moving it around in the garage or in a parking lot.

Have not moved it a ton yet but agree, on the road does not feel heavy or awkward at all.

It's funny . . . I traded my 2009 (Electra Glide) Ultra with only 27K miles on this bike. The old Ultra never felt so tight and competent as the new RGU, even though it weighed less. And the wind management of the shark nose fairing . . . reminds me of my BMWs.
Funny how the wives fail us. I took my wife with me to look at the then new Rushmore's and to keep me out of trouble. It wasn't long that SHE was negotiating for a shiny new Rushmore Limited. The only reason we didn't come home with a new Limited is they didn't have one in the color I wanted. Phewwww, that was very close.
The back seat and back rest is "eye candy " for the women rider. When I bought mine the picked the color '13 Big Blue Pearl" that color pops in the sun. Would like to see yours in the sun. Good job, enjoy the ride and welcome to the Shark Tank.
