Default powdercoat question

I would like to have my exhaust endcaps powdercoated. Any issues or can it not withstand the heat?

If it's just the end caps, it should be OK if you use a high temp powder. High temp will take up to 1200 degrees. They don't come in many colors, mostly low gloss black and silver. Your engine and Weber grills are powder coated.

My co-worker just had his exhaust tips painted with high-temp black paint...no powdercoat.

It doesn't need to be real fancy, just that the chrome is starting to bubble a little in the grooves and I think the black would look good anyway. What ya'll think about using a spray bomb and doing it myself? What would I have to do to prep them?

Hi-heat or Barbeque spray bomb will work fine. Just sand them a bit so the paint will stick.

If your going to paint it yourself, dog155 has the right answer, ceramic paint. It holds up longer, and looks better, but you need to bake it on after painting, find some one with an old ELECTRIC oven and bake it according to the instructions.
