Default 08 sg wobble

I have an 08 sg that has 45k on it and it has developed a vibration at 3500 rpm and up under Heavy acceleration and I notice going around corners the *** end is loose any ideas?

Front motor mount has cracking around the base but what about the rear bushings in these years if bike?

If the front mount is cracked, it could be loose enough to be causing your problems by letting the drive train/rear swing arm move around too much. In addition to changing that, check and adjust the steering neck. That being loose can also cause wobbling. The rear bushings may need changed too, but doing the front mount and steering neck may cure your problem.

how big of a job is it to tighten the neck bearings? Never done it before it was on my list this winter to rebuild the forks and powder coat them it does also have a clunk going over bumps

Improper tire pressure or worn tires can also cause vibrations.Since your asking how to do something thats telling me you don't have a service manual. You must get one before you do any wrenching on your ride, proper torque values if for nothing else.

Rear bushings. Get those changed and it will ride like new.

<<<it does also have a clunk going over bumps>>>

Sounds like a steering head bearing...

I did the swingarm rebuild first...thinking it might be it.

Still felt the same...

Doing the steering adjustment did it. Along w/the adjustment (there's a pretty basic vid on youtube) I removed the nut and loosened up the adjuster a couple of notches...then greased her up real good to get it to the top bearing...then tightened her back up to the specs in the manual...she's back to normal!

Without removing the top bearing and packing it...it's kind of difficult to get grease up there...it wants to squeeze out the bottom...fella on here pointed out...rap a piece of thin rope around the bottom of the neck tight while greasing...this will force the grease ALL the way up...that's why I loosened up the top adjuster b4 I greased so the grease could get in there w/out it being to tight to penetrate...then tighten up.

Get the front mount done and the adjustment and you should be in good shape.

One thing thats sometimes overlooked is rear tire alignment. Make sure the rear rim/tire is in the frame squarely and inline with the front. If rear tire is crooked it could cause a wobble.

If you were happy up until 45K then I'd replace both front and rear mount rubbers, swing arm bearings, set fall away, change fork oil (but rebuild is better), check frame alignment, check wheel bearings and if tires are worn, replace.

Good time to upgrade suspension, new aftermarket rear shocks, RT and springs in the front, or cartridges, etc. 45K most stuff is worn..
