Most annoying/distracting thing you can put on a bike.
Whenever I ride in a group and there's a bike behind me with this gizmo turned on, I ask the guy to turn if off and if he doesn't, I move behind him in a heartbeat.
I have very bright LED headlight, passing lamps, turn signals plus an illuminated windshield trim on the front of my bike. If this doesn't make me visible, nothing will IMO. These lights are far more noticeable and less annoying than a modulating light.

I'm in the had one, got rid of it camp. It did work for certain things very well like the bump stop when someone stops and then immediately goes at a cross street. I've had that driver jam their brakes on after they did the bump stop, saving me an avoidance maneuver. But otherwise they just seem to **** people off.
I'm not a fan of the modulators either. If one is approaching me, I find it a distraction and get lulled into staring at it and not keeping my eyes moving.
