Okay, I tried searching and couldn't see to find the details I was looking for. I'm trying to determine what Harley OEM take off seat would be a direct bolt on for my 2017 Road Glide, and provide the most plushness for me and a passenger. It looks like one off an Ultra or limited? Are the driver & passenger area's more padded on them than my stock 2017 Road Glide seat? An obvious difference you see in the Ultra & Limited is that the passenger section looks to be bigger wider-thicker, but is it plusher as well? I want to try a take off for now as their a 1/3-1/4 cheaper than the high end stuff. My Road glide currently has "Low" printer into the plastic seat pan. If a seat is not considered "Low", guessing then its what.. "a normal" height seat? What's the difference between the two? 1, 2 inches higher lower Etc. Is a normal seat more padded so as you sit higher? So what seats (PN's) are available for the Ultra & Limited in Low & non-low?
PS: I have a 4 Point docking station and so will be popping on a full sized tour pack when double riding. So, will certain seats have and issue clearing the tour pack?
I've got a 2012 Ultra seat and a 2017 Ultra seat. They both fit on the bike. I'm running a Police Bike seat. When it comes to seats any Touring model seat will fit. Where the problem comes in is all our butts our different so we all want something different. Most dealers have demo seats. Ride a few then send your seat to Mean City Cycles MCC in the mountains of North Carolina and get it customized. Best decision you'll ever make.
Any Touring seat from â09 up will fit. If you want plush get a â14 up dresser seat. They are a little wider in the passenger area than earlier models.
Dressers have a tour box, so common sense tells me they will clear yours.
If a seat "is not" considered a "Low" seat, guessing then its what.... "a normal" height seat? What's the difference between the 2 .. ? 1, 2 inches higher lower Etc.

All of the seat pans on 14 and up Street Glides, Road Glides, Ultras and Limited have Low stamped on it. None of them are actually considered the " Low " seat unless it came from Low Model. ie. FLHTK-L
Go to a dealer and demo every seat in the place cost you nothing you walk out educated.
you may not find the prefect seat but you will have a much better idea.
I know on my 2017 RGU wife likes the factory seat better than the Hammock . For me it does not madder much. I have 3 Touring seats that fit mt RGU hanging on the wall.
2008 will fit also they changed the seat mount in 2008.

Okay, so all seat pans have "Low" printed on them. When I was looking to buy a 2017, one dealer told (showed) me that the "Low models" had a kick stand that had holes in it, while the bikes with a solid (no holes) kick stand were the non-Low models. So, still curious on the difference between the two? 1, 2 Inches higher, Does the seat sit xx Inches more forward Etc?
