Yup, the bike coasts fine with the clutch pulled in and there's no friction that's slowing it down abnormaly.

I'll give the throttle blade setting a crack and report back.

Thanks.

Can't remember if anyone asked or if you volunteered your idle RPM. Do you have it cut back to the old, barely running idle? That information might have answered the question on page 1.

I can't remember off-hand but my idle seems pretty normal. I wanna say about 1,100rpm if I recall.

I am back to being baffled again. Have any friends with the same or very similar bikes? You can both be in the same gear, same speed, and both close throttles at the same time and see if yours slows any more quickly than the other one. If it does, I still have no guesses at this point. If not, "they all do it".

MAP sensor could be the issue. I would check to see if values are given in the service manual or the electronics manual for your bike.

I moved a couple of years ago and don't ride with anybody here so I won't have the chance to try that. But I was speaking with a buddy with a same year Road King and stage II but he says that his throttle roll off is really smooth.

It'll be a week before I can adjust the throttle blade control but I'll report back with whether that does it or not.

Have you checked the throttle blade?
If coasting does not have same result then it is engine related. Your tuner said it is not a tuning issue. I would like to believe that but I don't. while it was being tuned this should have been evident and as such should have resulted in the tuner finding the source.

Now I am confused, is the problem a rough transition during throttle roll off or what seems like excessive engine braking? Are you getting a misfire causing a jerk during "float", not driving and not coasting. Or are we back to what seems like an over sensitive throttle making a smooth transition more difficult than on a new bike?

One more thought, have you checked for any engine codes? Specifically anything pointing to a problem with the twist grip sensor or the throttle body? Anything showing mixture lean (Intake leak) or cylinder misfire?
