2017 ultra limited was riding today and both driving lights just went out. I am also having problem with bike not reading keys fobs and doesnt want to start
When I bought my 17 it came with a warranty. Instead of posting I would be beating feet to the dealer. Not trying to be a wise guy at all but that is what I would do. Best of luck and hope you get it worked out quick like.
It is late Sunday evening, but to avoid embarrassment at the dealer, try reading the sections in the owner's manual that describe these systems. Driving lights are normally set at the factory to turn off when high beam is selected (whether you meant to select high beam or not). A quick change to the on board computer can change that so the passing lights will stay on in both low and high beam selections.
The security section will mention that the FOB may not work in areas of electronic interference. High voltage power line, fluorescent lights, a cell phone in your pocket, large running electric motors, anyone in the area using a ham radio? THE MOST IMPORTANT SECTION IN THE SECURITY SYSTEM CHAPTER: Learn how to put in a PIN and how to use it. Otherwise, it will only be a matter of time before you use your cell phone to post in here-Help, I'm out in the toolies and my bike won't start. Your FOB battery will have died and you will be CLUELESS about the dealer PIN and how to use it. From what I have seen, the security system has prevented more OWNERS from riding when they wanted to than it has ever prevented thefts. If you don't want to, you never have to change your own oil, BUT learn how to start your bike WITHOUT the FOB.
Thanks, driving light don’t want to work on high beams or low beams and I will learn how to over ride FOB. The problem is it seems that if I put kickstand down it will crank 1/2 the time. I will learn how to over ride FOB to avoid stranded
Check to make sure the it didn't became unplugged in the connection inside the light bucket...believe me i know, same thing happened to my aux lights...they became unplugged, must have not been locked in place....
Hey everyone I appreciate all the response and I live 55 miles from dealer and bike is under warranty so I have made an appointment to take it in. if nothing else it will be a good ride there and back. Hoping it may be a setting or something that I had done. First Ultra and my 2002 RoadKing didn't have all the electronic goodies.
Is your spotlight (driving lights) pushbutton working? Mine stopped engaging when pushed in. I sprayed a little WD-40 into the pushbutton and works everytime now.
Just my 2 cents.
Dale
