i went to turn the bike on but forgot to unlock the ignition. the ignition rotated even with the key position stating locked. returned ignition back to original position used key to unlock ignition tried to turn the bike on but get nothing no lights or anything as well as the forks will not lock now. looking to find out how to fix it myself?

 

If the switch turned, it must not have been pushed down all the way when it was locked. Can you still get the switch to come out? If so you may need to realign the tumblers with a big flat head screw driver.

 

Has the ignition switch ever been removed? This can happen when the cogs in the housing get moved out of whack and the ignition switch isn’t turning them correctly. It can be a little tedious to get them to line back up but it’s all trial and error.
