I had my road king since september 06 it is a 07 RKC. Need advice I want to install some slip on exhaust and a ness big sucka air cleaner will I have to get a fuel management system I just want some more sound. My sport bike was louder.
YOu might wanna search as there is a lot of posts about different exhaust configurations.
If you are increasing your air intake ... you need to change the fuel management (ie Fuel Pack, PCIII, SERT, THundermax...etc) They are so lean as it is.. you don't want to add more 'air' and make it even leaner.
Well if you go with rush 2.0 you do not need anything else and they have a lot better sound loud but not too loud.. but if you put the air filter on you have to go with a fuel managment.. pc111, sert, fuel pak etc. but if your only looking for sound then I would go with a set of rush 2.0 baffles it will give you the sound your looking for .. you can call them and talk to them they will tell you what your options are with the different baffle sizes...I would suggest a fuel management anyway since the 07 runs so lean anyway, it will cool it down some as well..
I just put on a set of B&E, Max2 slip on's and love em! (06 EG Classic)
Did not do anything to air filter so don't plan on doing a fuel management change.
The sound is great!
Found them on Ebay.
Rob2002 .... the 06 model is a TC88 which doesn't come so 'lean' as the '07s do with the new '96. The '06s don't have heat issues (due to lean mix) compared to the '07s.
Much more critical to add fuel to the 2007s to richen up the mix and work well with the new air intake.
Welcome aboard! Ditto on the many threads for exhausts on the HDForum, do a few searches and you'll see.
I had SuperTrapp Fish Tails on my '93 Evo FLHTP with a Kuryakin A/C, they sounded great (of course I like throaty) and made HP/TQ. ST puts out a good product, they where second on my short list for the TC88 Twinky motor.
I'm in the process of changing my exhausts on '04 FLHRCI right now, so I can't really speak to the Twinky motor until this happens.
Bottom line is if you do the A/C and add free flowing pipes, you'll need a Fuel management system to adjust your ECU, SERT, PC III USB, etc. There are lots of threads on those little beasties, too.
The HDForum is a great source of information, use all the tools available.
