Smack that puppy flat with a hammer , touch up the paint a bit and go on about your business. I've completely removed and welded new tabs on many a frame over the years. Only reason dealers back off on it is liability issues and the sue happy gomers that own the bike.

At this point its not just the top mounting tab its the downtube or floorboard plate also. The bike has full coverage on it. This is why i pay for insurance. If i didnt, then ok id look into that.

He said its somewhere in the right downtube thats bent around the floorboard. I also looked at the right floorboard the night i dropped it off and its sitting about 1/2 inch higher at the rear than than the left one. He put the frame replacement on the repair quote because to tear down and repair depending on whats bent will be almost as much as a new frame. All the labor is the same, + straightening the frame, and reinstall. The frame itself is around 2. It would be cheaper to reuse the frame but not by a ton.
If that's the case and beings the insurance is paying for it, go with the new frame and ride with no worries.......

I'd be more upset that I lived in a place called Bunola.
