Default Change handlebars

Hello! I have an 07 road glide with cruise control and I want to change the stock handlebars for a 18" ones. I have change a few handlebars in the past from a dyna and sportster and have no problem with that, but I have never changed any bike with cruise control, it is not an electronic throttle so the question is, does the cruise control works with cables? or just normal extension of the wiring (like a turn signal) will be necessary?

On my 06 RG it's part of the wiring harness in the throttle side switches. I have to tell you that it's not a half hour job changing bars on these models. I recommend you check out 'you tube' which will show you the sequence on the RG, they only show newer models with the throttle by wire but it gives you an idea of what to do...b.

Ok, one of my concerns was that I've seen the modules and they look like they have a trim of throttle cable, so I wonder if I am going to need replacement/extension for that wire from the module..

Just be aware that we have a steady trickle of members who introduce electrical gremlins, as a result of doing their own wiring extensions, especially when wiring inside the handlebars. So take great care as you work!

Just wires, extend them as needed with the rest of the wires. Yes a PITA on a Roadie, but worth it for comfort, my opinion. I did 12" on my '05, all the wires reached and I was much more comfortable.

definitely worth is for comfort, as long as you splice the wires in an offset pattern and get good connections you will be good to go

If you remove the outer fairing you can pick up approx. 6" of slack on the wiring by re-routing the existing wires. I don't know if this would be enough for 18" bars but it was more than enough for my 14" ones...b.
