Not long out of warranty and coolant pump goes out ,,,,
As well as washing your bike,, your should of got a complimentary coffee ,, a nice big burger ,,, and 50% off a nice jacket ,,, thats at the very minimum !!!!
I don't want to make you miserable, but did you discuss with the shop whether the thermostat replacement was a MIS-diagnosis of the failing pump? If they gave you the old one, put it in a pan of water and heat the water. If the t stat opens before the water boils, it was probably NOT your problem in the first place. If it doesn't open, it had truly failed, no error, no foul. If it does open, they owe you a at least a discount on the water pump job.

I don't think the thermostat leak was a misdiagnosis as the bike worked for a few hundred Ks after the thermostat repair only to break later on. I'm prepared to give the dealership the benefit of the doubt regarding this.
I think it was just a coincidence that the thermostat failed so close to the water pump. In fact the thermostat failure may have well contributed to the water pump failure later on.
Anyway, the thermostat repair was so cheap I'm not really bothered trying to recover that small amount... I'm just glad everything works now...
