Ditto on my '03....same procedure.

Just picked one up at my favorite dealer. Hope this one stays in one piece so I can twist the top and the bottom move with it. Had to get something for the lady as it was 20% off lady's night. She needed something to wear when cold.

Not sure if I like the chrome over the original. But it did come out in one piece. See how it last, hoping long time for as much as it cost.

PS it is the same length. Also there is some on eBay.

Oh it's been silicone sprayed, and other lubes as well .

Seems like the oil tank has no appreciatiable pressure and no spray up into the neck where the dipstick goes. So do you guys think it would be overly risky to trim the plug portion of the dipstick to make it less grippy?

For several years I had one of the digital, LED tem/oil level dip sticks that I first used on my '00 Ultra and then on my '13 CVO Ultra.
It eventually "gave up the ghost" and I resorted back to the OEM dipstick.

I have a Rinehart XT True Dual exhaust system on my bike and the way the read pipe is designed and routed makes checking/changing oil a real PIA.

I'm planning on having another LED model by next season and a least checking the oil (and oil temp) will be much easier.
