thunder volt by ultima my last 1 lasted 7 yrs on bike and is still cranking the lawn mower 1 yr later. I replaced it with a deka and the thunder volt was way better in my opinion. I am already having to charge the deka at 1 yr old

I went with a Deka and the slow crank and slight delay before cranking immediately stopped. She fires right up now.

I just replaced my battery. I decided to go with the Yuasa GYZ32HL from Phat Performance, $138 shipped to the door. Bike cranks good. I am happy with the choice. Time will tell how long it lasts.

Default My .o2 on batterys

Just my 2 cents. Don't think you could go wrong with Big Crank (which is a deka) at $100 from Battery Mart or Yuasa 32 from Phat Performance at $125 or so. Had both- wrecked bike with Big Crank after two yrs. & only had Yuasa 32 about 2 yrs. so can't say how long they last, but both will crank most any touring bikes easy with no drag. I do keep them on a charger/maintainer during winter & think that is the key to making a battery last on a bike, mower etc.

Last 2 batteries I bought for my bikes have come from batterystuff dot com.

The last battery I bought was an AGM sealed battery very similar to those discussed previously in this thread - $109 shipped to my door.

I take a silver sharpie and write the install date on the top of the battery, so I know when I get 3-4 years (which is what I average on a motorcycle battery using a deltran battery tender when not riding), I start watching for sales.

Someone earlier in the thread mentioned this, and it is worth repeating. Battery tenders only “maintain”, they are not putting out enough amperage to charge a dead or discharged battery.

If the price is close, go with a two year warranty battery from a local store.
If you have a warranty issue, it's the least hassle and least downtime. If it's a chain store, that might even come in handy out on the road.
When mine conked a few years ago, I went with a Duracell from Batteries Plus. Two year free replace, and they told me "You are in the system. You will not need your receipt if an issue happens out on the road". I keep all receipts, but that is cool right there.
I feel that my theory just has more bases covered, that's all.

That’s good advice if you did have a problem during warranty the shipping would kill you if you order online.
