My 2010 Ultra trike won't stay running after about 1-2 seconds. I checked the codes in the Odometer and on the letter "S" it came up with b1145 ((HFSM) Security Antenna Open. Anyone know how to reset this or fix this?
The fob is not connecting to the security system antenna.
The antenna is a rectangular black thingy kinda between the ECM and the back end of the fuel tank. Try popping it off of its connector a few times. Might just be a poor connection.
If you can't figure out which one it is, let me know and I'll run out to the garage and take a pic.
This makes sense. I'll try it. I saw that box (about 1 in square plus about 2 inches long with two wires) but didn't know what it was. I'll ask my wife if that would be considered a "thingy". lol
I just checked it out and it IS the antenna. I unplugged it and the motor wouldn't even turn over, plugged it back in and it started but immediately shut down so that tells me that it is making contact. The two pins inside it have 0 continuity if that means anything. I sat the FOB on top of it and it didn't change anything
I saw them for sale from $20 to $125. One person said that the dealership has to connect the new one to something like ECM(?)
Thanks

If you don't know how to yet, get out your owner's manual and LEARN how to over ride the FOB with your PIN. You may have to call the dealer to find out what the current PIN is, then you can use that or change it to one of your choosing and then see if the bike starts and runs. If it does, that open antenna may well be the problem, if does the same thing, the antenna code may just be the first of several that would indicate a problem. If the antenna is the problem, you won't be able to change the PIN as both FOBs need to be present to do that (I believe). I don't have the security doohickey on my machine, and would never choose to have it because of many problems similar to yours. At least according to the forums, the security thing locks out more OWNERS than any genuine malfunction and if a pro wants your bike, he will get with a van and a lift in just seconds with or without the security gadget.
If you don't know the PIN to override the security system try calling your dealers service department and see what they set it to during the initial setup. My dealer sets it to the last 5 digits of the VIN. Your owners manual will tell you how to use the PIN to override the security. But because it starts at all I'm thinking it is something else. It should acted like no FOB is present if it's not getting a signal. It will also say enter PIN on the odometer if you turn on the ignition if it doesn't detect a FOB.
I did the reset pin among numerous ideas such as the 30 min reset. Nothing has worked. I agree with you and would like to remove the security crap but don't know how.
