As stated you need to consider exactly what it is you want and need out of the machine. Me I would trade like a shot as the Rocker ticks all my boxes just fine and sounds like a great machine and has quite a following in it's own right.
My Harley-Davidson is rock steady at whatever speed I wish to crank it up to but then again it is not a tourer with fairings, screens or bags for the wind to contend with. Take the Rocker for a blast to help you decide.
I'm not sure if it's the case, but looking at your bike pic you have two different brand/tread design tires. This could be your issue. A buddy rented a SG and it had two different tires, and he said it handled like a bag of shiz.
I can’t express how much I appreciate every body chiming in on this subject and as much as it broke my heart I did the trade for the rocker. I am definitely in love with road glides and I plan on getting another one in the future but probably at least a 2013 or newer. I jusj wasn’t comfortable on that bike and all I could do was see my last ride every time I got on it. I’m in Colorado, I’ve rode before but this is the start of my harley life. any cruises or events going on I’m going to try and get involved in I’d be up for meeting up with others in the area. Have a couple drinks and enjoy the rides! Thanks fellas
The whole chopper or Rocker era is dead. About the same time that OCC went off the air the desire to be on a chopper died. Baggers are the rage right now. Harley quit making the rocker, and your buddy traded you, is a true sign of this. With that being said, if you're happy with the trade, that's all that matters.
Ditch the laced wheels and get the cast wheels that belong on that bike. Adjust the steering fall away and check your forks for proper maintenance and fluid.
Mine has the spokes ( that belong on it ) and no problems ...
Congratulations! You came, you rode, you chose; simple as that. At a younger age I tooled an FX (No bags, w/shield, or electric start) all around this great nation and loved it. Thanks for reminding me of that.
