Default Saddlebag support brackets

O6 flh, pulled the right side saddlebag off and discovered the broken bracket, I’m wondering if there’s a heavier design, or stainless, or thicker metal or better yet, can I make my own?

Cool

Unless you've owned your bike from new, never dropped it or been shunted, there is no knowing what that bracket has been through. That one has survived 11 years, so the simplest thing is to replace it with another, as offered by deadhawg above. You'll be fine in no time and ready for the next 11 years or more!

Yep, you could buy above and the cheapest route. But if you want to beef it up you could gat ya a set of Big Buffalo guards. I have them on my old bike and very hefty indeed. Hope the mods are okay with the pic but pretty sure I got mine from DK.

I had the same bracket break on my 2003 FLHTC, and my sons 2005 Road King. Mine broke first, and I had just bought a new Lincoln mig welder. Thought I would try welding it back together, as if it didnt work I had to buy a new one any way Beveled back the edges, and welded it together. 4 years and over 25,000 miles later still holding up fine. Same with my sons, I did a year after mine.
