I have been using Alpine Earplugs for a few years and they work great.

Cheap foam ones cut in half work good with the 1/2 lid. None required with the 3/4.

Earplugs compatible with HD/Sena/etc. drop-in speakers for comm and music? No comfort issues?

Surefire!!! Yep, used on gun ranges a lot. I've worn them on many combat deployments because they allow me to still hear. I wear them comfortably with my Shoei Neotec. I've found that earplugs make my music louder.......the fact, that they stop wind blasts into the ears when wearing 1/2 helmets. I find a benefit even with my modular....kills just the right amount of noise.

Lastly, I feel more rested with ear plugs when I'm on those week long trips and riding daily. But even at rest stops, I don't really have to take the sure fire out of my ears

I wear No-Noise plugs all the time with my half helmet and an IMC half helmet headset, should be the same as the Boom headset, with no issues. I wear plugs every time I ride, with or without the headset.

My wife wears them with her 3/4 helmet as well. The helmet doesn't bother them but she can only wear earplugs for a few hours at a time due to her having very sensitive ears.

No issues hearing the radio or intercom. Radio is actually easier to hear with the windnoise filtered out.

Here is a link to another option although not an inexpensive one. At least 6 of the group I ride with are currently wearing these. The other half are too deaf to enjoy them.

Tunz are available in a dual or triple driver version. The triple driver version are primarily used by professional musicians and are a bit more expensive. The dual driver units have excellent sound quality and reduce wind noise while riding to the point you can listen to music at a very comfortable level. They work well as ear plugs as well. When paired with a blue tooth device like a Jumbl (see picture below) they can be used totally wireless. My phone rides in my windshield bag plugged into an auxiliary charger. The Jumbl is clipped to the lapel of my vest or jacket and allows me to adjust volume, change tracks or pause remotely.

I purchased these for riding but find I am now using them all day long at work and while driving to listen to music and talk on the phone hands free.

Any reason to sell in a 3 pack? Do some of you have 3 ears and I got shorted and only have 2? Even the case only fits 2 unless you really jam them in. What am I missing here? Gotta be a reason.....

Yes, these. They have both MotoSafe and MusicSafe versions. They are very good with flexible attenuation filters for just the right music/noise level.
