Thats how I mounted my 30" sissy bar. The square base of the bar fit right into the square channel at the QD mounting plate.

I wouldn't eff around with cheap add ons. Wait till you can buy something because you really like how it looks on the bike. You'll have fewer fitment problems, no corrosion issues, and just be far happier for the effort IMHO.

Yes. That's the generic USA-biker sissy bar from ebay.
22 inches tall. For me it was a worthwhile investment. I had planned on a Ginz 30 inch bar and pad right from the get go. I just wanted to be sure it was the look I was after. Let's face it, our touring bikes are not old choppers, and trying to capture a bit of old school looks on a new bike doesn't always work out. But for me, I really like the look. This is the look I'm going for.

You're absolutely right. You can't bolt on a chopper and it always looks silly when folks try. That said, your bike looks great. Probably because the apes balance the height of the sissy bar. I think 22" is too tall for my bike, though. Guess I'll keep looking and if I can't find what I want, I'll just build one.

This is probably not a new idea but I discovered while planning a trip last season that a 65 liter, (17 gal), roll top waterproof dry bag mounts nicely to the bar. You sit the bag on the rear seat with the roll top ring loop clipped around the top section of the bar. A single bungee at the base end of the bag, secured to the base of the bar is all you need to secure the bag.

The filled bag in rubberized black looks good, makes a nice backrest, and lifts on and off in 3 seconds with only a single bungee for securement. Even when you spring for the highest quality rubberized bags this is a cheap, weatherproof, convenient and (oddly enough) good looking temporary storage solution for trips.

If you're riding 2 up you'll need a different mounting solution.

Any comments on usa-biker accessories quality appreciated. In addition from our Canadian members, anyone know of a distributor in Canada? Thanks in advance.

I bought this from USA biker from eBay.. I think. Their communication is slow/ terrible but build quality is great so it all works out. One piece units, andHeavy

I put one on my FXSTC. This one fit right on my quick detach mount.
