I finally got some time to put a few miles my '02 RKC yesterday. I got off the back roads and was going to make a thunder run home down the turnpike. As I ran up past 65 mph the front wheel seemed to start bouncing. I looked down and it looked like it was hopping up and down pretty good. I had no side to side wobble. At 70 mph it got worse so I backed off to 60 mph and it seemed to settle the 75 miles home.[:@]
The previous owner put a set of Avons on HD Chrome Spoke Wheels. I had the cold pressure at 35 psi. The wheels have wheel weights installed. The bike has 9100 miles on the clock.
Hi! Just signed up on this forum, cause I wanted to help with this bouncing front wheel issue, which I had for a while. Well, I found the problem yesterday, after brake pads change, it became obvious: the rotor is like an 8 shape and during the ride it hits periodically the brake pads causing the bounce. If someone still has this problem that`s a reason to be investigated.
