If anyone is worried about beeing seen, I just installed two 8 led modules on the back of mine from hyperlites and let me tell you, those puppies can be seen when flashing when the brake is applied. It only cost $60 and was an easy install.

I did my own brake light kit in my tour pak,my dealer wanted $245.00 to do the install of the light kit. I was a nervous wreak doing it,measured a bunch of times, after i drilled the first 1/2" hole into the tour pak,I settled down and got into the whole prodject.
I found the pattern to be very easy to line up and trace,,stayed within the marked lines and did the cutting with a fine tooth hack saw blade, once i finished cutting out the first opening,I block sanded the remaining material down to the line,My light kit fit into the opening "perfectly" and it took me 2.5 hrs start to finish to do the whole job(that included standing back looking at it having a few beers though out the 2.5 hrs)
The only thing i would suggest is setting the tour pak aside for a few days after doing the light kit,to allow the silicone sealer time to loose the strong smell.

This was the first major job i did myself, and i'm proud to say i did it myself!

PS the dealer service guys looked it all over and said i did a very nice job! they even removed the liner to see how it looked inside. couldnt find a thing wrong with it besides they didnt get $245.00 from me

Mike
Mike,

Glad to hear you got the project finished. Still have not installed thetwice deliveredrear light. Don't even know if they work.

I installed the spoiler/LED brake light and the tour pak side lights.

The spoiler had a template that was easy to use and it was a matter of drilling four holes. Measured and eye-balled many times and fretted before drilling but it was not difficult.

The side lights should have been even easier. Should have except I put the spoiler on first and decided to add the side lights later. The first step was "Remove the tour pak." That meant unhooking and snaking the LED brake light wiring back from in front of the battery. Idid theside light wiring by leaving the tour pak attached loosely by only one bolt so I didn'thave to pull andrethread the wires through the holein the front of the tour pak.

So if you're going todo both, do the side lights first!

I also have the HD brake /run/directional module on my bike, everyone who rides behind me knows when i have my brakes on,and at night it is even brighter. My tour pak came with the side lights installed already.

Dawg............. any chance of a pic of the hyperlights installed ,I've been thinking about them as well

FLGEEZ....... Thanks again for the advice on the brake light kit install, went very smooth once i got over drilling holes and making the first cut really wasnt very difficult at all,and i saved $245.00 doing it myself.

The side lights are a piece of cake. You just have to drill one hole.

I have the side lights, came with the bike. I also installed the HD brake /run/directional module which was a piece of cake and everybody should have it. I'm planning on installing the LED Spoiler also on tour pak. Seems to me, the higher the lights are then more chance of being seen.

Here's a pic from the hoglite.com site. I am telling you that this led bar is a great addition for under $60.00. I do not own or work for this company. I bought my hoglite from the owner on EBAY.

I did a spoof of the H-D installation instructions on this item just in time for April fools day. It is quite simple to do. The template alows you to be pretty sloppy in doing the cut and still come out looking good. I'm talking about being off by 1/4" or so. It's so easy, a caveman could do it. 8-)
